Defeatism Is Not a Strategy

How Weak Voices on the Right Are Handing the Midterms to the Left Before the Fight Even Starts
POLITICS: By Walter Curt

The internet is suddenly filled with a chorus of doomsayers insisting MAGA is finished, the midterms are already lost, and we should all pack it in and wait for 2028 like political squatters. It’s the most pitiful display of weakness I’ve seen yet—people throwing in the towel a full year before the fight even begins, pretending surrender is strategy. Even if someone truly believed MAGA was over, why on earth would their next move be giving up on the midterms rather than fighting harder to elect people who actually share their supposed principles?

This entire meltdown exposes a crowd that seems to enjoy losing more than winning. Instead of organizing primaries, building ground games, or pushing the administration to sharpen its course, they’re telling their followers to go home and accept defeat before the first ballot is cast. They cling to niche complaints, act personally wounded when every policy doesn’t land exactly their way, and then declare the whole movement dead over disagreements that pale in comparison to the historic mess we just crawled out of. Meanwhile, deportations are rising, the border is tightening, tariffs are reshaping trade, and the very establishment MAGA was built to dethrone is finally being pushed out of its foxholes.

And here’s the tell: the Left loves every second of this demoralization campaign. You can see it in their operatives flooding conservative spaces, encouraging the “give up now” narrative, cheering as some on the Right convince themselves Trump is controlled by this or implicated in that. If your position earns applause from Norm Eisen, you might want to reconsider your sources. The only path forward is simple—reject the defeatists and keep fighting. Organize, primary the dead weight, build momentum, and refuse to surrender a single inch. The midterms aren’t lost. They haven’t even begun.
