They are blue states. What's the big deal. It turned out exactly as expected. The GOP should be concerned about 2026? Total BS.

You are whistling past the graveyard if you think this margin of victory isn’t concerning.

Blue states yes. But Sears got 600,000 votes less than Trump did, because the Republicans can’t motivate voters to get to the polls without Trump on the ticket.

If the Republicans can’t win without Trump, we will get destroyed in 2026

Probably nothing illegal happening with the vote counting, either huh?

Even if there was fraud.

South West Virginia had a 40% drop in turnout.

The numbers don’t lie. They show that Trump’s base didn’t show up.

And it’s no surprise, because they didn’t message to them at all.

My concern has been Gen Z. As the Silent Generation passes (age range 79-97) Gen Z (age range 13-28) replaces them, votes and the results are worrying. In NYC 81% of Gen Z women voted for the Dem candidates, in NJ it was 80%, VA had 78%. Gen Z males were less, roughly 20 pts less, but still more for Dems than Republicans.

The Silent Generation was largely conservative while Gen Z looks to be largely liberal. Unless Gen Z voting habits change, many an election will move to the Dems and the mid-terms are toast. Money can't overcome that percentage of a generation voting one way. It can put a sizeable dent in it, but not overcome close "purple" races.

In the past, people tend to vote Republican as they get older, but this is fading somewhat...Gen X isn't changing as much as the Boomers who didn't change as much as the Silent's. There will need to be a major event that shifts votes. Absent that, I just don't see how the Republicans hold the house.

Two things. One, look at the response below. The Democrats do not reject hate, they've made it an election winning strategy. Virginia Democrats put the seal of approval on candidates openly wanting their opponents, and their children, to die. In another era that would have been a career ending position. It now guarantees you a win. The VA election matters because it wasn't just the state level races, the Democrats now have an almost supermajority. They are going to get rid of all but one Republican Seat. CA is redistricting even further, getting rid of any marginal Republican seats. Red states will not respond in kind, so there goes the House next year.

Second, that hate is unifying. Again, look at the VA election. Democrats will vote D no matter what. And more importantly, they will vote even if they don't like the candidate or don't care about the race. Meanwhile, Republican voters sit at home. The social media leaders are involved in a civil war while the GOP House and Senate do nothing. What legislation have they passed? Everything that you like about Trump has been done by Executive Order or because it falls under Executive control. Nothing has been enshrined in law. Which means most of it goes away next year when the Democrats take Congress and it all goes away in 2028 when they take the WH. Because after another failed Trump presidency where nothing gets done, they'll sit at home while the left once again gets everyone out to vote. That's why this election mattered.

WAKE UP? Wake up to this: How does winning 3 races in deeply Democratic strongholds indicate that the Democrats or, now more accurately, the Democratic Communists teach the GOP anything? What planet do you people live on? They're HATE Trump message is preaching to the devil and the GOP knows it.

The Democratic Communist propaganda outlet New York Times on November 3, 2025 ran with this: “Elections across the country on Tuesday will offer the Democratic Party its biggest chance yet to assert its viability as a serious opposition party.”

Those wins tell the Deomcratic Communists nothing about their viability as a serious opposition party. What it DID tell them is that HATE TRUMP is still working in their delusional blue enclave echo chambers. They had no clue why President Trump won on 2024. Did HATE Trump stop working? It's been the single platform of their party for more than a decade and they needed to make sure the delusional faithful still responded like Pavlov's dogs to HATE Trump messages. And they did, bless their little blue devil hearts. And so they will continue to make every election about hating Trump instead of focusing on the massive problems of what amounted to a 4-year shutdown of the government under dementia Joe.

Here's what it taught those of us in the GOP:

1. The howler monkeys at CNN, and that guy Maddow at MSNBC and the rest of their bought and paid for propaganda machines have begun screeching insufferably about how “the nation” has delivered a mandate to stop Trump. They will grab that bully pulpit and bellow “IT WAS A REFERENDUM AGAINST TRUMP”, “TRUMPISM IS DEAD”! THE PEOPLE ARE ON OUR SIDE! WE HAVE THE MOMENTUM! IT’S A NEW RED DAWN IN AMERICA! Except that two deep blue states and Gotham is NOT, thank God, representative of the nation and America.

2. It taught the GOP that if insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, then an entire political party has gone insane. There is no other rationale explanation.

3. Obama slithered out of his Martha's Vineyard mansion - one of the whitest and richest neighborhoods in America, to encourage the TDS faithful to vote for a white woman and ignore the sista because she had an "R" after her name, which they did. This is the same race shaming black man Obama who was encouraging the party faithful to vote for a black woman just 4-years ago. By doing so he proved categorically that the only thing systemically racist about America is the Democratic party.

4. Research the history of rent control in New York City to see that within two years of Mamdani’s rent control scheme, those apartments will be rat infested and unlivable. But he will still have that shit-eating grin on his face, and blaming Trump because he won't send billions to bail out one of the poorest run cities. But he will keep promising to do even more cuz he be da mayor. Rat on!

What else did it teach the GOP? They have nothing to worry about. They're still as crazy as ever.

You are completely discounting the margin of victory that they just had.

Your concept would be accurate if it was a tight-ish race.

This was an absolute blowout. Not even remotely close. And that’s because the Trump voters did not show up.

The GOP is going to get absolutely obliterated without Trump voters, and hopefully this election teaches them that.

Expand full comment
Buck Nimz's avatar

If it wasn't a tight race then why was the media saying it was? Were they lying again? Why did they have to bring in Obama at the 11th hour? Trump voters did show up, but in Virginia and NJ they are outnumbered in those deep blue Democratic strongholds that have always been reliable producers of Democratic victory. Two deep blue states DO NOT represent the nation.

If you need to convince yourself and your TDS infected readers that it was a massive victory, knock yourself out. But none of you have the slightest clue why he's back in the White House. Seventy-seven million Americans, including former Democrats rejected Hate Trump. Hate does not build a healthy and vibrant and secure nation.

The biggest mistake GOP candidates make is being sucked into talking about Trump and NOT the issues. You can't debate with emotionally hypersensitive crazed haters. Look at the comment from MaryJane. How do you debate that kind of hate? And Jay '"two bullets" Jones is now Virginia's AG? How do you defend that Walter? What set of twisted moral values does that represent in Virginia Democrats? Those aren't the values of the majority of Americans. Americans use the ballot box and not the ammo box to solve problems.

This isn't about Trump. It's about repairing the damage done to America from the 4-years of worshipping the Social Justice DEI trinity. Trump is back in the White House because he made it about America and the major issues Americans cared about. The TDS crowd made it about Trump and they're using fear to generate hate. They have ever since 2016 and it's still all they have.

He's back in the White House because Americans saw how destructive Social Justice was to America's culture. He's back in the White House because Americans wanted a secure border, and they wanted him stop drug trafficking that was killing Americans. All the Democrats worried about was who would pick the crops if the illegals were deported, just like how they were upset with Lincoln for freeing the slaves who were picking the crops.

They wanted him to enforce Immigration law and deport illegal aliens who were bleeding the welfare and health care systems. They wanted him to bring jobs back because jobs create wealth, and you can't create wealth unless you have law and order. Trump is back in the White House because that's what he focused on and he took votes away from the Democrats to win. Get it through that TDS haze and start dealing with reality.

No they didn’t.

Trump won 2 million votes in Virginia. Sears didn’t even get 1.5 million.

500,000 Trump voters didn’t go to the polls.

The reason they brought in Obama and all of the big names in was so they could get Jay Jones over the line. They want to redistrict VA, that’s why the mobilized so heavily.

Expand full comment
Buck Nimz's avatar

So they brought in the big names to get a man who openly fantasized about killing his opponent elected? It wasn't about ignoring the black candidate then, right? Can you not see how mentally ill it is to try and defend that statement? Redistricting is more important than threatening to kill you r opponent. But it gets better.

In this mornings WaPo, the headline of the article written by their editorial board reads: "Thanks to Trump’s overreach, Democrats won big." The third paragraph validates my argument about Trump's 2024 election: "Trump won the presidential election decisively, which gave him a mandate. At the same time, he received millions of votes from people who were primarily voting against the failures of the prior administration, which supercharged inflation by wasting trillions on unnecessary stimulus, functionally opened the borders to millions of illegal immigrants and covered up President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline until doing so became impossible."

Democrats just love that mandate word, don't they? But the GOP now knows their playbook for the midterms, and it hasn't changed. Democrats offer no tangible policies except for giving people more welfare and HATE Trump.

As for how old "Two bullet" Jones got elected, WaPo said: "Democrats rationalized support for Jones by saying that Trump has said and done far worse, that everyone behaves stupidly sometimes, and that personal conduct matters less than party affiliation. Tribalism is a hell of a drug, and the results in Virginia showed that Republicans aren’t the only ones susceptible." Not my words. Take it up with WaPo's editorial board if what they said clashes with your delusions. If they see that, why don't you?

What are you talking about none of what you just said made sense.

The Democrats do not care who they support they only pursue power.

The reality is that Trump Voters didn’t go to the polls.

600,000 of them didn’t go to the polls.

Thats why the GOP lost, because they didn’t motivate the base to vote for Sears. It’s a complete and total failure of the party to work the ground game. That’s it. Nothing else. They failed.

The Republicans will fail again if Trump isn’t on the ticket, because Trump motivates low propensity voters.

The GOP doesn’t. Go look at turnout data in South West Virginia.

40% drop in some counties. That’s a failure to get the vote out. That’s a failure to communicate with the base.

I have no idea what you are arguing, because the only thing delusional is the fact that the Republican Party didn’t rally the base, and as a result? They got obliterated.

Nice way to refocus the argument from old "Two bullet" back onto the Republicans. I know that tactic well. Most of what I wrote is from WaPo. Tell them it doesn't make sense. I guess they didn't do the voter turnout research either.

If the GOP failed to communicate with their base, then the Democrats succeeded in making sure communicating HATE Trump still worked. That's ll the election proved.

I'm going to keep this exchange in my archive and will revisit it in the midterms.
